CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE?

ROMANIANS ARE NOT GYPSIES!

So you see on your streets a lot of Gypsieswho left from Romania, but they are not ethnic Romanians.
The bad thing is that you should not blame all of us Romanians for thegypsies acts. You have to make this difference, Romanians on one side, and Gypsies on the other side. Please!
There is a difference betweenthese two ethnic groups, okay? Gypsies are originating from India andthey traveled in the history in all the Asia, arriving in Europefinally. Their skin is dark, they are dirty, they have no civilisationand most of their time they do crime.
Romanians on the other hand are white people, and as a nation theywere born when the Roman Emperor Trajan conquered Dacia in year 101,ruled at that time by king Decebal. Romanians are those a latinpeople, and their language is very similar to italian also. Followthis link on wikipedia to learn more:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trajan

TRAIAN BASESCU SAYS NO

Romanian President Traian Basescu said that the Romanian diplomacy has the obligation to support not necessarily Serbia, but the international law principles.

BUCHAREST, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Romania's stance remains unchanged as regards Kosovo file, namely the backing of Serbia, a sovereign and independent state's territorial integrity, Romanian President Traian Basescu said on Monday.Basescu made the remarks when meeting with Romanian ambassadors present in Bucharest on the occasion of the diplomacy's annual meeting."This autumn, we might be confronted with the difficult moment of an eventual solution linked to Kosovo. Our stance is not an intransigent one, but remains unchanged, that Serbia is an independent, sovereign state, whose territorial integrity cannot be affected," said the president.Basescu added that the Romanian diplomacy has the obligation to support not necessarily Serbia, but the international law principles."There is no legal fundament for the creation of a Kosovo state. One invokes the moral right of the Albanians, but there is no moral right in the international law, just the guarantee of borders' inviolability. Nobody could easily trespass the international law norms," underlined President Basescu.Legally still part of the Serbian Republic, Kosovo has been run by the United Nations since mid-1999 as a protectorate. Kosovo's future status has been a bitter subject between Belgrade and Kosovo's Albanian majority who are pushing for independence. The UN special envoy Martti Ahtisaari presented last March his proposals which would grant supervised independence to Kosovo. The plan was backed by the U.S. and many of the western countries, but was vehemently opposed by Serbia and its veto-power ally Russia.According to analysts, Romania opposes an independent Kosovo, partly because of the fear that the move will set off a chain reaction in the country's central and northwest region of Transylvania inhabited by Hungarians.

BUCURESTI SAYS "NO"

BUCHAREST, Feb 18 (IPS) - Leaders of Romania, one of the European Union (EU) members not ready to recognise declaration of independence by Kosovo, are having a hard time justifying their opposition to birth of the new state.

Cyprus is considered the most staunch opponent of independence, Slovakia and Bulgaria the mildest, while Spain, Greece and Romania have declared that they would not recognise a unilateral declaration of independence from Kosovo. The countries opposing independence argue that such a step will lead to destabilisation of the Balkans and of countries with large ethnic minorities. Romania is concerned about the Hungarian minority in the country. Hungarians represent about 7 percent of the population of Romania (22 million), but close to 20 percent in the western region of Transylvania. While some voices in the country claim that Hungarians will attempt to declare independence using the Kosovo precedent, a more realistic expectation is that Hungarians will seek strengthening of their rights, and increased local autonomy. With most media channels broadcasting statements of analysts setting out doom scenarios about the future of Transylvania, and 30 young representatives of the Hungarian community demonstrating in the Transylvanian city Cluj in support of Kosovo independence, the moderate message of Marko Bela, leader of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), could easily pass unnoticed. At a press conference in Bucharest Monday, Marko Bela said the Kosovo case can only represent a precedent in terms of the need for international actors to get involved in strengthening rights of ethnic minorities. No analogy should be made otherwise between Kosovo and the status of other regions around the Balkans, said Bela. Bela said that although his party is the only one in Romania supporting Kosovo independence, "sooner or later, Romania, as a member state of the European Union, will have to recognise the new independent state." The Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania is one of the two parties making up the minority government of the country. So even though Romanian foreign minister Adrian Cioroianu went to Brussels to present the anti-independence stance of his country, this position is not supported by the other member of the governing coalition. UDMR has been a member of the country's government since 1996, surviving several changes in power of the left and right political forces. Bela has reasserted the commitment of his party to finding political solutions to the problems of the Hungarian minority "through partnership, and through sending our representatives to the parliament and to the government, whenever possible." But Bela warned that he has noticed recent attempts to reverse the progress made since 1989 in the relationship between Romanians and Hungarians. As examples, he mentioned legislative initiatives to close down Hungarian schools in the country, and delays in adoption of a law for minorities. Bela stressed the need to improve the rights of minorities, and called for EU involvement. But Romanian leaders opposing Kosovo independence are also concerned that such a precedent could give more grounds to the separatist pro-Russian regime in Transdniester in southern Moldova. Moldova is a country of four million, sandwiched between Romania and Ukraine, where the majority of the population is ethnically Romanian. There has been speculation that Romanian President Traian Basescu is negotiating with Russia and the United States to allow for a union between Romania and a Moldova without Trasndniester, in exchange for Bucharest reversing its stance on Kosovo. But historian Armand Gosu says Basescu does not have the influence to negotiate at this level. "Opposition to the independence of Kosovo comes from a political class that has been educated in a nationalistic spirit," Gosu told IPS. "Romania's position on Kosovo does not make any sense, it is schizophrenic." While Romania declares itself against the independence of Kosovo, he says, it has committed itself to participating in the EU law and order mission that will assist state building in the newly established state. Furthermore, Gosu claims that opposition to Kosovo independence contradicts the country's status as NATO member and strategic partner of countries like the United States and France, who are recognising independence. "The political class in Romania is against independence for electoral reasons as well," Gosu told IPS. "They are afraid that the electorate might punish them otherwise, as they punished president Emil Constantinescu, who, in 1999, allowed NATO to use Romanian air space during its action against Milosevic. That is why Constantinescu lost the elections." (END/2008)

ROMANIA'S STAND ON KOSOVO

Romania opposes Kosovo’s independence

BOR -- The Romanian ambassador to Serbia says Kosovo’s independence would destabilize the region.“Romania favors broad autonomy for Kosovo, agreed on through a direct dialogue of Priština and Belgrade. In case of an unprecedented decision to grant Kosovo independence, other separatist regions throughout Europe would see this as encouragement to continue with their demands“, ambassador Ion Macovei said today in Bor, where he attended a meeting of the Vlach Democratic Party of Serbia.According to him, this position was recently relayed to NATO secretary-general Jaap de Hoop-Scheffer. The ambassador also said Bucharest had no territorial claims over those parts of Serbia inhabited by majority Romanian and Vlach population. “The Romanian minority in Serbia and the Serb minority in Romania must enjoy all the rights guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights, and continue to be loyal citizens of the states where they live”, ambassador Macovei said.

Bridey Murphy

Bridey Murphy

Bridey Murphy was a 19th century woman from Cork, Ireland, who began speaking through Virginia Tighe in Pueblo, Colorado, in 1952 when Morey Bernstein, a local businessman and amateur hypnotist, hypnotized her. Bernstein encouraged past life regression of his subject and she cooperated by speaking in an Irish brogue and claiming to be a 19th century woman in Ireland. Bernstein hypnotized Tighe many times after that. While under hypnosis, she sang Irish songs and told Irish stories, always as Bridey Murphy. Bernstein's book, The Search for Bridey Murphy, became a best-seller. (Tighe is called Ruth Simmons in the book.) Recordings of the hypnotic sessions were made and translated into more than a dozen languages. The recordings sold well, too. The reincarnation boom in American publishing had begun.
Newspapers sent reporters to Ireland to investigate. Was there a red-headed Bridey Murphy who lived in Ireland in the nineteenth century? Who knows, but one paper--the Chicago American--found one in Wisconsin in the 20th century. Bridie Murphey Corkell lived in the house across the street from where Virginia Tighe grew up. What Virginia reported while hypnotized were not memories of a previous life but memories from her early childhood. Whatever else the hypnotic state is, it is a state where one's fantasies are energetically displayed. Many people were impressed with the details of Tighe's hypnotic memories, but the details were not evidence of past life regression, reincarnation, or channeling. They were evidence of a vivid imagination, a confused memory, fraud, or a combination of the three.
It is indicative of the typical lowering of the standards of critical thinking when it comes to belief in the supernatural that defenders of preposterous stories such as this one find easily accessible information to be incontrovertible proof of their veracity. For example, Tighe talks about kissing the Blarney stone and knew that the act requires the assistance of someone who holds you as you lean backwards and face up to kiss the stone. This is common knowledge and photos of this are available in hundreds of sources, yet this fact has been cited as strong evidence that Tighe really kissed the stone in a previous incarnation.* Yet, these same proponents of the strange and occult are not concerned that the kind of reincarnation they are considering contradicts everything we know about how memory works, not to mention that it is impossible to explain without rejecting everything we know about human consciousness and the brain. Such beliefs are works of pure imagination, which we tolerate in cartoons and for entertainment, but which any rational creature should rebuke in those who claim to be seeking the truth.
As Martin Gardner says, "Almost any hypnotic subject capable of going into a deep trance will babble about a previous incarnation if the hypnotist asks him to. He will babble just as freely about his future incarnations....In every case of this sort where there has been adequate checking on the subject's past, it has been found that the subject was weaving together long forgotten bits of information acquired during his early years" (Gardner 1957).
